I am so excited to start sewing up my Little Ruby quilt with the Fat Quarter Shop. I however wanted something a little different and choose to use Tula Pink jelly rolls instead! I mean how fun is that!
I choose two different Tula Pink lines that I think will play well together, Eden and Chipper. I have some white fabric I will use as the coordinating fabric to make the colors of the jelly rolls pop. For this project I will yield TWO quilts with 2 jelly rolls of print and 2 jelly rolls of solid (I will be just cutting from yardage for my solid).
I think the fun thing about patterns and sewing is using different fabrics to play around with the look of the finished product. I love little ruby but I really wanted something super saturated and I don’t have a Tula quilt in my house… GASP! I really love Tula and her fabrics are a favorite of mine so I think it is fun to finally make something to showcase her fabrics. Wanna learn more about Tula? Go listen to our chat on the podcast, episode 063. She is amazing and so funny.
Below is the finished quilt but I think mine will look different because of the fabrics but I am excited to see just how different it will be. I am experimenting a little on this one which is fun.
Wanna learn a little more about this quilt along? Go check out the Fat Quarter Shop video to help you with getting started.
Also there are a GREAT list of other bloggers participating in this quilt along so go check out what jelly rolls they chose to use. And come back in two weeks to check out the progress we have made and the next steps in the quilt along.. the star blocks!
